I covered state government and politics for IBJ, which means I stayed up-to-date on what the governor was doing, action at the Statehouse and at state agencies and what was happening on campaign trails. IBJ publishes two daily newsletters that I contributed to, and I also wrote weekly enterprise stories for the print edition. In April 2018, I launched The Rundown newsletter, which publishes every Friday morning. (Check out several examples of the newsletter here, and here and here.)

I also covered philanthropy, which meant digging into where the big donations were coming and going and how local not-for-profits operated.
I previously worked as the “North of 96th” reporter for the IBJ, which focused on business news in Hamilton and Boone counties. Announcements for corporate headquarter projects and economic development deals seem to be nonstop, so the beat kept me busy. I ran the “North of 96th” blog, as well as Twitter account (@Northof96th).
